And when I was a child within the Nineteen Fifties, I may take a twenty greenback invoice to my native bank and trade it for a roll of twenty silver dollars. Many of those were in uncirculated condition with dates within the 1870s, 80s, and 90s!
By 1935 the mint had struck its final traditional ninety% silver one greenback coin.
Moving forward to 1971 a new dollar coin appeared. This was the Eisenhower dollar, which commemorated the first President remembered by a lot of the Boomer Generation.
